Debunking Recent Rumors and Myths

There are many reports on the news and other media about obama being accused of being the "Antichrist". Not only have people heard this, I and many others have received emails that supposedly support this accusation. Here is what one of the emails say:

According to The Book of Revelations the anti-Christ is:

The anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal.... the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??

I STRONGLY URGE each one of you to repost this as many times as you can! Each opportunity that you have to send it to a friend or media outlet... do it!

If you think I am crazy... I'm sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the "unknown" candidate.

Fortunately for many who believe this, there is a problem... this email has little to no truth to it.
The bible actually doesn't describe race or age as the Antichrist, it doesn't even describe religion. As a matter of fact the Muslim Religion was not even started until roughly 500 years later than the book of Revelations was written.

This is what the bible says about the "Antichrist" or "Beast".

Revelations Chapter 13

And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.[b]

He who has an ear, let him hear.
If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity he will go.
If anyone is to be killed[c] with the sword,
with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

Actually the word Antichrist doesn't even appear in the book of Revelations. It appears 4 times in the bible which is in 1st John and 2nd John.

Here is the 4 sentences in which it appears.

1 John 2:18
Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many Antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

1 John 2:22
Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the Antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:3
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

2 John 1:7
Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the Antichrist.

Hitler and Stalin
Hitler and Stalin many years ago have been thought to be the Antichrist. Obviously they were not unless you consider them the Antichrist from the millions of people they killed. Stalin was considered the 1st Antichrist and Hitler was considered the 2nd.
I can't find any sources of them being called the Antichrist though im sure you can find someone from the 1940's that can remember.

Conclusion:
FALSE - There is no evidence whatsoever that proves Obama or any other leader of being the Antichrist.

If you disagree with a candidate for his known policies, judgment, etc... it is one thing, but if you decide to slander the person or gossip it is not only wrong for false accusations, but also known in the bible as a sin.
